McClain faltered in first district test

McClain High School's football team entered district play last Friday, Sept. 28, not with a bang so much as an uncharacteristic whimper, falling hard to Leflore County 32-6. It was a far cry from the kind of football the Lexington school had been playing this season, taking their record to 5-2, and it was a harsh awakening as to the challenges that still face them this season....subscribers»

Holmes Circuit Court tried local cases

The Holmes County Circuit Court was in session Sept. 28 to try local cases. Lloyd Meeks pled guilty as a non-habitual on a charge of burglary of a dwelling, and was sentenced to 10 years with MDOC - 7 years to serve, and 3 years post-release supervision....subscribers»
