Rotarian Lydia Parrish and Dr. Lurlene Irvin
The Holmes County Rotary recently hosted Dr. Lurlene Irvin, an economist and economic
development consultant for the Holmes County Board of Supervisors, for a special presentation
on the future of the county’s growth.
Dr. Irvin shared a SWOT analysis with members and
guests, walking through the county’s strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The discussion
focused on how Holmes County can build on what it
does well while addressing challenges to create new
opportunities.
Dr. Irvin was the guest of Rotarian Lydia Parish with the Chamber of Commerce. Irvin was joined by her longtime
friend and Ole Miss classmate, Stephanie Hickman, who is Chief Executive Officer of Trice Construction and
Energy in Chicago, Illinois.
The Chamber continues to bring in speakers like Dr.
Irvin to help spark new ideas and conversations about
building a stronger Holmes County for the future.
