Walker Jones, William Jones, Bethy Edwards Jones
In addition to his academic honors, William Jones, a senior at Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis, signed with Ole Miss to continue his football career for the Ole Miss Rebels. Jones is a third generation legacy at Ole Miss. His grandfather, Bill Jones and his father Walker Jones both played for the Ole Miss Rebels. William is following in their footsteps by beginning his career with Ole Miss this fall.
William Jones is the son of Bethy and Walker Jones of Collierville, Tennessee; Bethy Edwards Jones is a former Lexington native. William Jones is the grandson of Maria Edwards and the late Dan Edwards of Lexington; Bill and Candice Jones, and Susan and Charles O’Mara, of Jackson, Mississippi.
During his high School tenure, Jones has received multiples honors and awards. He received First Team Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) and All-State Region honors. He also earned a spot on the First Team All-Metro squad, after his senior campaign at Briarcrest Christian School. He is a three-year football letterman, and was invited to play in the Auto-Zone Liberty Bowl All-Star game.
Jones also holds the Briarcrest record for most touchdown receptions in a season at 15. He finishes his illustrious Saints career with 82 catches, more than 1500 yards and 22 touchdown grabs.
Jones also competes on the Lacrosse team where he is a 2-time All-Region player, team captain, and four-year varsity starter.
