Funeral services for Mrs. Beulah Siddon Laird, of Vaiden, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with burial at Bethesda Cemetery both located near Lexington. Rev. Keith Garland and Mr. Bubba Carathan officiated the service. Pallbearers were Chase Irby, Rivers Irby, RC McGee, Michael McGee, Luke McGee, and Cal Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Siddon, Pete Siddon, Randy Mitchell, David Ross, Mike Concannon, Joel Murphy, Cooper Christensen, Parker Stewart, Johnny Farmer, Jerry Farmer, and Kenny Killebrew.
Visitation was held Sunday, November 3, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Mrs. Beulah Siddon Laird, 86, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at her home in Vaiden. She was born to Harvey David and Mary McNeer Siddon on April 5, 1938. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church near Lexington. Prior to retirement, she owned a grocery in Tchula, managed Holmes County Country Club and was a Baptist Children’s Village cottage parent.
She is survived by her daughters, Beth McGee of Vaiden, and Tina Ross (David) of Carrollton; her brothers, Mike Siddon of Leland, and Pete Siddon (Rebecca) of Louisiana; and her sister, Alice Whitman (BJ) of Horn Lake; nine grandchildren, Cal Mitchell (Rebecca), Katherine Mitchell Stewart (Parker), RC McGee (Courtney), Michael McGee (Cherish), Corie Murphy (Joel), Luke McGee (Lee), Chase Irby (BreAnna), Shelby Christensen (Cooper), and Rivers Irby (Mallorye); and seventeen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Ray Laird; daughter, Melinda Gail Mitchell; brothers, Eugene “Bubba” Siddon, Bill Siddon, Wilburn “Wibby” Siddon, and Frank “Mickey” Siddon; and sisters, Mamie Siddon, Mary Lou Farmer, and Lyda Tavvenner.
