BOBBIE MAE BUCHANAN BROOKS

Bobbie Mae Buchanan Brooks, 78 years old, was a native of Lexington, Mississippi and longtime resident of Kenner, LA. Bobbie Brooks gained her wings and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
She was a graduate of Saints Junior College of Mississippi, and an amazing educator at heart. She loved flowers, sewing, spending time with her grandchildren, and taking daily walks.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Brooks, Barbara Brooks and Elmon Brooks, Jr. (Laquita). Grandmother of Consuela Brooks, Joshua Brooks, Jostin Brooks, Kristen Brooks, Kristian Brooks, Kierra Wiltz Brooks, Destin Brooks, and Angeligue Bridges. Sister of Lucille Smith, Caroline Cross, Elnora Buchanan, Verlene Anderson (Roy), Flay Buchanan, and Alonzo Buchanan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Flay Willie Buchanan and Willie Mae Glover Buchanan; brothers, Fred Earl Buchanan and Leon Buchanan; sister Eloise Brooks; and grandson Paris Brooks. She is also survived by a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life was held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., at Porter and Sons’ Funeral Home, 237 Yazoo Street, Lexington, Mississippi, 39095. Interment immediately followed at Franklin Cemetery, 417 State Park, Lexington, MS 39095. Arrangements were under the care of Richardson Funeral Home, River Ridge, LA and Porter and Sons’ Funeral Home, Lexington, MS.
