With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, our family announces the passing of our beloved Linda Lavell Redmond Mayfield, who transitioned peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Born and raised in Lexington, Mississippi, Linda was a pillar of strength, grace, and quiet wisdom. Her love reached beyond words—expressed in the way she cared for her family, uplifted her community, and poured herself into the lives of those she cherished.
She leaves behind her devoted son Alphonso Demond Mayfield; her treasured granddaughter Eden Mayfield; and her special niece Tracy J. Redmond, who held a sacred place in her heart.
Linda’s spirit will continue to live on in every life she touched, in every lesson she passed down, and in every quiet moment of love she gave without needing recognition.
We honor her life, her legacy, and the extraordinary woman she was.
Homegoing service will be held on Saturday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove MB Church, 150 Rhyne St., Lexington, MS 39095.
Arrangements are entrusted to Porter & Sons’ Funeral Home, 237 Yazoo St., Lexington, MS 39095.
