Cooter went to be with family, friends, and Elvis on July 1, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. She was 82.
Cooter/Slim was born on April 13, 1934. She was the daughter of Willie Day Wynne and Essie Lee (McCorkle) Wynne. She lived most of her life in Holmes County where she was a cattle farmer, gardener and homemaker.
Cooter married Robert Ryan and they lived in the Aberdeen/Amory area for most of their married life. Even though they had no children, Cooter was a much loved child care provider for Jonathan Wayne Cain as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Cooter was preceded in death by her parents Essie Lee and Willie Day Wynne; her husband Robert; sisters, Corene Beckham and Ween Malone; brothers, Willie Lee Wynne, Oscar Wynne, George Wynne, Sr., Willie Day Wynne, Jr.; and nieces, Annette Wynne and Leisa Wynne.
Cooter is survived by her brother John R. “Doc” Wynne (May) of Kosciusko; nieces, Tracye Malone Prewitt, Amanda Wynne Cagle, Eula Lee Wynne, Fran Cox, Vera Gilfoy, Patsy Rogers and Faye Wilson; nephews, Greg Wynne, Mike Wynne, George Wynne, Jr., Don Wynne, Danny Wynne, Oscar Wynne, Jr. and Bubba Wynne, plus a host of great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Jacob Prewitt, Joshua Prewitt, Hayden Cagle, Braydon Wynne, Mike Wynne, Greg Wynne, Terry Wynne, John Tucker Wynne and Michael Wynne.
