MACK ERVIN GRANTHAM

Mack Ervin Grantham, 91, of Lexington, died at home on Monday, August 8, 2016.  Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10 at Southern Funeral Home.  Graveside services followed at 11:00 a.m. in Odd Fellows Cemetery with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Rev. Keith Garland officiated. Pallbearers were Billy Cash, Anthony Grantham, Holt Smith, Bill Davis, Michael Fancher and Paul Taylor.  Honorary pallbearers were the Nathan Aldridge Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church in Lexington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave Grantham and Corine Beville Grantham and brother Lewis Rosamond Grantham.  Survivors are his wife Lois Grantham; son David Allen Grantham (Mary Ann) of Kosciusko, MS; and brother Hayes Grantham of Lexington.
Mr. Grantham was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years and a member of the Nathan Aldridge Sunday school class. He was retired from Weathersby Chevrolet and Holmes County Country Club and served as alderman for several years in Lexington.  He served in World War II in the 321st infantry in the military police 677 receiving two overseas service bars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Arm of Occupation Ribbon (Japan) Victory Ribbon and Asiatic-Pacific Theater Company Ribbon.
