CHESTER EUGENE THOMPSON

Chester “Chet” Eugene Thompson, 72, passed away peacefully at his home on March 30, 2017.
Chet to some, Gene to others, was born on November 20, 1944 in Lexington to George Robert and Sadie Thompson.
He joined the Navy in 1963 and while in the Navy met and married his wife of 52 years, Rose Marie Lasley.
After eight years of service, Chet and Rose made their home in Silver Springs, Maryland where they raised their four children. When Chet retired from the United States Postal Service in 1988, they moved to Durant, MS.
He is survived by his wife Rose Marie; a son Donnie (Tricia) Thompson; two daughters, Teresa (Eddie) Fanflik and Angel (Doyle, Jr.) Gilmore; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Grace Winstead and Sarah Adcock; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is resting in peace with a son Daryl Thompson, his brother George Robert Thompson, Jr. and his parents.
