Mabry Hurst McBride, age 72, of Durant, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson.
Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services immediately followed at 11:30 a.m. in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Seneasha Cemetery. Brother Randy Rhodes officiated.
Mr. McBride was born on September 25, 1953, in Mississippi, to the late Melvin Mabry McBride and Jewel Lee Odom McBride. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he worked as a self-employed electrician. Mr. McBride enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and listening to country music.
He is survived by his daughter Angela McBride; his wife Olga Sims McBride; and his children in marriage, Terrance Sims, Martez Sims, and Donevin Sims. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Marcus Sims, Jasmon Sims, Jammie Sims, T.J. Sims, and Dylon Sims; his great-grandchildren, Savanna Sims, Skyla Sims, Stormie Sims, Shilo Sims, Alonna Sims; his brother Dwain McBride; his sisters, Pamela (Terry) Martin and Beverly Coleman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Melvin Leonard McBride; and his brothers, Archie McBride, Donnie McBride, BJ McBride, and Tiny McBride.
Pallbearers were Matt Coleman, Victor Lee Moore, Jr., Victor Lee Moore, III, Matt Ingram, Cullen McBride, and Collin Ingram. Terry Martin and Blake Martin served as honorary pallbearers.
